NFL Mock Draft

4/27/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody. As you all know, tonight is the NFL Draft. It bothers me, for some odd reason, that people like Mel Kiper make so many mocks, because by the time the picks start coming in they have predicted so many different outcomes they will have gotten it right in at least one of their articles. Anyways, that is why this will be my one and only mock draft of the year, so enjoy. NBA Playoffs: Day 12 Picks

4/26/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody. Below will be my picks for tonight's NBA games, but be sure to check back in soon for my NFL Mock Draft. The Draft starts tomorrow night, so make sure to take a look at who I think is going in the first round. Also, follow me on Instagram for updates on when I post, as well as the ability to request new topics.

Update on my picks:
Games: 20-8
Series: 2-0

Atlanta Hawks @ Washington Wizards:

The Wizards were up 2-0 in this series until the games traveled to Atlanta. Since then, the Hawks have been able to tie this series up. I still like the Wizards to advance to the next round, so I'll take them tonight at home. John Wall was incredible at home in the first two games, so I'm banking on him pulling that off again. I originally picked this series to go only 6 games, and if that is to happen, the Wizards will be able to pull out a win tonight.

Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics:
I have taken the Bulls to win every game of this series, mostly due to the fact that I'm a huge fan. In this game though, I'm riding with the Boston Celtics. They aren't going to drop 3 straight home games in the Playoffs, and the Chicago offense has looked anemic without Rajon Rondo. Isaiah Canaan stepped up for the Bulls, coming off of the bench and giving the team a spark, and so he will be starting tonight. Still though, unless he can play with Rondo's effectiveness, there is no way the Bulls win. Sorry Bulls Nation. #SeeRed

NBA Playoffs: Day 10 Picks

4/24/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody. Below are my picks for tonight's NBA Playoff games. Follow my Instagram @thetrudareport for updates on when new articles are released, and also so you can either give me your opinion on whatever I'm writing about or request new topics.

Update on my picks:
Games: 17-8
Series: 1-0

Milwaukee Bucks @ Toronto Raptors:

The Milwaukee Bucks have played much better than I expected from them, and to me it looks like they can win this series. I originally picked the Raptors in 7 games, but the way things are playing out, the Bucks might end up being the ones to win in 7. Tonight I'm taking the Raptors though, because I think the home court advantage will help them take the lead in this series. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been playing like a superstar, and I think the Bucks have a bright future, but for now I think the Raptors experience will help them win home games down the stretch of this series. I'm on the fence about who will win the series as there are serious upsides to each team, but tonight I'm going to stick with the Raptors.

Washington Wizards @ Atlanta Hawks:
The Wizards have a 2-1 series lead against the Hawks, having won both of their home games and then being obliterated in the first match in Atlanta. I think that the Wizards are one of the only teams with the ability to challenge the Cavaliers, so I expect them to win this series. I took them in 6 games though, saying that they would win every home game in the first round, which means the Hawks must win tonight to make my 6 game prediction correct. For that reason I'll take the home team Hawks, but expect this to be their final win of this season.

Golden State Warriors @ Portland Trailblazers:
"Blazers in six."- Damian Lillard
HAHAHAHA!!!! I understand having confidence in your team, but my god was that a stupid prediction. I said that the Warriors would win in 5, but I'm going to backtrack on the 5 game part of that prediction. I'm taking the Warriors tonight, completing a sweep of Lillard's Trailblazers. Even without Kevin Durant the Dubs have been in complete control of this series, further proving they are the team to beat. Completing the sweep tonight will further reinforce the notion that they are the favorites to win it all.

NBA Playoffs: Day 9 Picks

4/23/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody.  I'm sorry for not getting a post out yesterday, but I had no free time to write. Today I'll be giving my picks for the games this afternoon, and then hopefully as the work week begins Monday I'll be able to get back on top of posting every day again. Make sure to follow my Instagram @thetrudareport for updates on when I post.

Update on my picks:
Games: 16-6
Series:0-0

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Indiana Pacers:
I originally picked the Cavs to win, which is clearly going to happen, but I said I thought it was going to be a 5 game series. The Pacers have had blown 2 chances to win games now, so I'm backtracking on my 5 game series prediction. I'm taking Cleveland in this afternoon's game, just because the Pacers have shown an inability to win. This game would clearly be the time for Indiana to win because they are on the brink of elimination and they are at home, but I have no faith in them after watching LeBron single handedly carry his team to victory after down 25 points.

Houston Rockets @ Oklahoma City Thunder:
Just like I said, the Thunder always have a chance when at home. It worries me though that the game was decided by only 2 points. The Rockets have either been in control or have had a shot to win every game of this series, and this next game could come down to one James Harden shot at the end. Despite this, I'll take the Thunder to win today's game just because I said this series was going 6 games. I think that it will be another close one, and to reinforce what I just said, this game could go either way if it stays close. Anyways, I'm going to ride with the Thunder.

Boston Celtics @ Chicago Bulls:
The Bulls looked anemic on Friday night, and I think the loss came down to crappy point guard play and Jimmy Butler struggling early in the game. I don't expect Butler to play that poorly again, but the Chicago backup guards are less than encouraging. I think the Bulls can win this game  with good play off the bench and good three point shooting, but I'm not sure if they will be able to do that. As a Bulls homer, I'm going to have to take the Bulls for the fourth straight game, but I am truly scared to death that this series is going to be tied 2-2 at 9 PM E.T. tonight.

Los Angeles Clippers @ Utah Jazz:
Blake Griffin has played his last game as a Clipper. For the second straight year he has been injured in the first round of the Playoffs, and without Chris Paul turning back the clock dropping 34 on Friday night, LA would be losing this series. I picked the Jazz incorrectly last game, but I will take them to win tonight because I don't see Chris Paul putting the team on his back two straight game. I still think the Clippers can win this series, but I don't see them winning tonight.

NBA Playoffs: Day 7 Picks

4/21/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody. Below are my picks for tonight's NBA Playoff games. Follow me on Instagram @thetrudareport to express your opinion, and to request new topics.

Update on my picks:
Games: 15-4
Series: 0-0

Boston Celtics @ Chicago Bulls:
Earlier today news came out that Rajon Rondo sprained his thumb in Tuesday nights win against the Celtics. He is out indefinitely, with the expected timeline being 7-10 days.  Jerian Grant will be starting in his spot, and this could be a problem for the Bulls. Rondo has been a beast, averaging close to 12 ppg, 10 apg, and 4 spg in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how the Bulls fair without him. My brain tells me that Boston wins this game due to Rondo being out, and the urgency there is for a win. My heart tells me Chicago though, and my heart has been correct so far in this series. I'm taking the Bulls again tonight because I don't think I can take Boston until they prove they can win a game.

Houston Rockets @ Oklahoma City Thunder:
The Rockets dominated Game 1, and proved they can win close games in the second match up. Tonight I'm taking the Thunder though, just because I like what the home crowd can do to Russell Westbrook's game. When he has the crowd cheering him on, he plays at an even higher level. My brain tells me to go with the Rockets, and I think James Harden has the ability to take over this game if he chooses to do so, but I like OKC tonight.

Los Angeles Clippers @ Utah Jazz:
Tonight the Utah Jazz try to take control of this series by winning their first game back on their home court. I really like how the Jazz have been playing, and in my original prediction for this series I had the Jazz winning tonight's game. For that reason I'm taking Gordon Hayward's squad to take the lead in this series. I think it will be another close one, but after seeing Blake Griffen's great performance last game, I can't envision him matching that production tonight.

NBA Playoffs: Day 6 Picks

4/20/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody. Once again I'll be giving my predictions for tonight's games. Make sure to follow my Instagram @thetrudareport to express your opinion or request a new topic.

Update on my picks:
Game: 13-3
Series: 0-0

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Indiana Pacers:

I originally said that the Pacers would win only one game, and it would come in one of the first two. Now that the Cavs are up 2-0, the Pacers still need to win a game for me to be right about it being a five game series. I'm not high on the Pacers tonight though, so I'm taking Cleveland. I still don't think that the Pacers will go winless in the Playoffs, but now I think that their best chance at winning a game is Game 4. Until then though, I'm picking Cavs.

Toronto Raptors @ Milwaukee Bucks:
The series is currently tied 1-1, and since I like the way the Bucks are playing I'm going to take them tonight. Kyle Lowry is consistently inconsistent in the Playoffs, and I expect tonight to be one of his bad games. I like how this series is going because it looks like it will go 7 games (my prediction) and I have found it entertaining to watch. Expect tonight to be a close one, and watch for DeMar DeRozan to break out a big stat line.

San Antonio Spurs @ Memphis Grizzlies:
Just like I did yesterday with my Warriors prediction, I'm going to keep this short and sweet. The Spurs are going to win. I took the Spurs to win in 5 games, and I said that the Grizzlies only win would come late in the series. Right now, we are in the middle of the series, so after the Spurs win tonight I will start to think about the Grizzlies winning when they play next. For now, the Spurs are winning.

NBA Playoffs: Day 5 Picks

4/19/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody.  Below I will be giving my picks for tonight's games. If you want to express your opinion, request I write more about a certain matchup, or request a new topic follow me on Instagram @thetrudareport or email me at [email protected].

Update on my picks:
Games: 10-3
Series: 0-0

Atlanta Hawks @ Washington Wizards:

Currently the Washington Wizards have a 1-0 series lead over the Atlanta Hawks. I took the Wizards in Game 1 because I believe in their team this year, and I believe in their ability to win at home. Because tonight's game is in Washington, I'm going to take the Wizards again. John Wall is a baller, and I fully expect him to play just as well, if not better than his 32 point performance in Game 1. Also, expect the Wizards to pay more attention to Dennis Schroder who dropped a team high 25 points for the Hawks in the first matchup.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Houston Rockets:
After an embarrassing loss in the first game, I expect the Thunder to put on a much better performance tonight. That doesn't mean I'm picking them to win though. I think that they will shoot better keeping the game within 8 points for the majority of the first through third quarter, but I expect James Harden to help the Rockets run away with it later in the fourth quarter. I'm taking the Rockets, in what I think could be another double digit victory giving them a 2-0 series lead.

Portland Trailblazers @ Golden State Warriors:
Warriors win. I don't care that Damien Lillard dropped 34 points. I don't care that CJ McCollum dropped 41 points. I don't care that Evan Turner played an all around good game, posting a double-double. The Golden State Warriors are at home, and as long as they have Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green in the starting lineup they will win this game. Draymond was a defensive force, and the best shooting backcourt in history will be able to match whatever Lillard and McCollum post in Game 2. Kevin Durant is listed as questionable, and personally, I would rest him because the Warriors can win this game without him.

NBA Playoffs: Day 4 Picks

4/18/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody. Once again I'll be hitting on this nights NBA games. To either express your opinion or request another topic follow me on Instagram @thetrudareport or email me at [email protected].

Update on my picks so far-
Game: 7-3
Series: 0-0

Milwaukee Bucks @ Toronto Raptors:
The Bucks pulled off an upset in the first matchup of this series, winning 97-83.  Giannis Antetokounmpo was insane, carrying his team to victory. He posted 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. I originally said I predicted each team to have at least one home loss, and now that Milwaukee has handed the Raptors a home loss, I don't see another coming until later in the season. I'm taking the Raptors in tonight's game, but I can guarantee you I will regret that pick if Kyle Lowry shoots like he did last game. Can you say atrocious.

Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics:

I called the Chicago Bulls upset victory in Boston, and to be honest, after watching the victory, I don't think the Celtics stand a chance if they continue the rebounding struggles. I'm a huge Bulls fan, so I'm going to go out on a limb and call upset again, with the Bulls coming away with a win. I don't see any way for the Celtics to immediately fix their rebounding issues, and if the Bulls shoot even a little bit better than last games mark of 32% from three they can win this game. Even though it is highly unlikely to happen, I have faith in my Chicago Bulls.

Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Clippers:
The Jazz upset the Clippers in the first game of the series, winning on a buzzer beater. That does not happen again tonight.  I'm taking the Clippers because I in no way see them loosing two straight at home in the Playoffs. Even if the game is close, I can't envision a scenario where the Jazz are able to steal another road win at the buzzer. Sorry Utah, but your team is not going to win tonight.

NBA Playoffs: Day 3 Picks

4/17/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody. The last two days I have given my game and series predictions for the NBA Playoffs. Today, and hopefully for the rest of the Playoffs, I will continue that trend. To either express your opinion or request a new topic follow me on Instagram @thetrudareport or email me at [email protected].

Update on my picks so far-
Games: 5-3
Series: 0-0

Indiana Pacers @ Cleveland Cavaliers:
I took the Pacers in Game 1, and said if they lost their only win in the series would come tonight. I'm going to backtrack on that original statement and take the Cavs tonight.  I still think that the series will last 5 games, but I think that the Pacers lone win will come in a home game. They came so close on Saturday in Cleveland that I don't think they will be able to match that level of play in another game away from home.

Memphis Grizzlies @ San Antonio Spurs:
Spurs win. I don't see much of a reason to go in depth about this game.  The Spurs are at home, and they proved in the first game that they can beat the Grizzlies in any fashion they want to. I don't think that it will be another 29 point blowout, but I'm counting on a win by around 10 points. Unless the Grizzlies can get their offensive post game working, I think Mike Conley being more aggressive is their best shot at victory.

NBA Playoffs: Picks for Day 2

4/16/2017

Welcome to the Truda Report everybody.  Just like yesterday, I will be giving my picks for today's games, as well as the entire series. To express your opinion or request a new topic either follow me on Instagram @thetrudareport or email me at [email protected]

Atlanta Hawks @ Washington Wizards:
I really like this match-up and I think this will be a fun series to watch, but I only see it going 6 games.  I'm high on the Wizards this year, mostly due to Bradly Beal's development into an impressive number 2 option alongside John Wall, who I think would have been MVP if Westbrook and Harden didn't decide to shatter every record in existence. I'm taking the Wizards in Game 1, and I expect them to protect their home court for the entire series.

Portland Trailblazers @ Golden State Warriors:
Damian Lillard said he expects the Blazers to win in 6. I'm taking the Warriors in 5. I love Lillard, but nobody else on that team poses a real threat to the Warriors.  Game 1 goes to the Warriors, and depending on how the first two games play out, I think the Blazers win will come in either the 3rd or 4th games.

Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics:
Here's a quick disclaimer: I'm a HUGE Bulls fan. Here's another one: I love the Celtics too. This series is a win-win for me because whoever is victorious I can keep backing for the rest of the Playoffs. I think this is going to be a really competitive match-up lasting all 7 games. Even though the Bulls have been super inconsistent this year, the Championship experience that Rajon Rondo and Dwayne Wade bring along with Jimmy Butlers star power is missing in the Celtics. Wade alone has more Playoff minutes logged than the entire Celtics roster. I think in the end the Celtics come out on top, but I plan on each game being a battle.  In the Game 1, I'm calling upset with the Bulls opening up with a win. I think if Jimmy Butler can neutralize Isaiah Thomas and Robin Lopez can get more than 10 rebounds, this game goes Bulls.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Houston Rockets:
This is the match-up everyone has been waiting for. Westbrook vs. Harden. MVP vs. MVP. I think that the one on one match-up of these two players is going to be incredible and the best basketball we see in the first round of the Playoffs, but I don't expect the series to last more than 6 games. I want to say it only goes 5, but the "live by the 3 die by the 3" mentality may backfire in more than one game for the Rockets. In the end though, I'm taking Houston in 6. I'm also taking the Rockets in Game 1, just because they have home court advantage. Expect this to be a fun series.
